Josh and I were excited to hike this trail in Redwood National Park. It isn’t an extremely long trail at only 1.5 miles, but it wrapped some history along with some amazing giant redwood trees.
The grove of old growth Redwoods was named after the former First Lady. It was neat to think that President Johnson and Lady Bird Johnson during the dedication ceremony were standing where I was now.
The loop trail itself starts off with a very sturdy bridge before heading out into the grove. Pictures never do justice to how big these trees get. It’s something everyone should see in their lifetime.
Despite the beautiful weather, we mostly had the trail to ourself and completed the loop almost too quickly.
While the Redwoods on this trail weren’t as large as some of the other trails in the area, I did especially enjoy this one because of the historical trivia and the lack of crowds. It was also one of the best maintained trails as well. Thanks for reading. rk
